Homemade, All Natural, and Gluten Free!
For parties, guys night, or girls nights, who doesn’t love to indulge in a classic combo of crispy chips and gooey warm cheese dip? But if you haven’t already noticed, most of those jarred sauces and dips are full of disgusting ingredients that even on a cheat night we want to try to avoid! So to the kitchen I went to whip up my very own cheese dip, and did I achieve what I set out to accomplish? I would say yes….yes I did!
Here’s what you’ll need….
4 cups shredded Mexican style cheese
2 tbsp of Kerrygold Butter, salted
1 cup heavy whipping cream, divided
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 medium/large or 2 small jalapeños, finely chopped
In a medium saucepan over medium low heat, melt together the butter and a half cup of cream. Add in the shredded cheese and begin to stir until the cheese starts to clump together. Add in the second portion of cream, and continue stirring while slowly raising the heat, until the mixture melts into a creamy consistency. (Don’t allow it to boil.)
Next, remove the pan from the stove and stir in the spices and jalapeños. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!
Remember, this is a very clean recipe…there are no added ingredients like most jarred cheeses sauces and dips, to keep this from sticking together as it cools. If you’re not wanting to serve it right away, but want to keep it on a table as a dip, you may want to transfer it to a small crock pot and keep it on a warm heat for the best enjoyment!
